Why does Progeny indicate no signature device configured?

When opening the Add Signature dialog, if the title bar indicates "(no capture device configured)" and the Capture button is disabled or non-responsive, then close all the current windows returning to the main ProgenyES window, select Edit - Options from the menu bar, and choose the Devices tab. On this tab, you may select the model of signature capture device that you have connected to your computer. Progeny provides minimal support for the TT1500 Penware/Datacard/WelchAllyn device and full support for Topaz models.

If your ProgenyES version is 8.5.5 or older, the title of the Add Signature dialog may still indicate that no capture device is configured, but the Capture button should be enabled and you may proceed, ignoring the window title bar.
