What is the "Report Criteria" area for in the Report Builder

The Report Criteria tab in the Report Builder is the filter that weeds out information that you want specifically in your custom reports.

For example: If I want a report of all the 0-17 year old enrolled members I would have to select Age Range in my Report Criteria Tab and enter in the 0-17 information and then I would select Status-Enrolled. By doing this, I have sifted through the information so that my report will only include 0-17 year old enrolled members.
